The London District Catholic School Board has a reputation for excellence, with more than 4,400 employees working together to educate approximately 27,000 students at 43 elementary schools, 9 secondary schools and St. Patrick Adult & Continuing Education within Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin counties, including the cities of London, St. Thomas, Strathroy and Woodstock.
Applications are invited for the position of:
Reporting to the Executive Manager Business Services, the Supervisor of Finance & Budgeting is responsible for leading budget work for both Preliminary and Revised Budgets. The role is also responsible to complete all EFIS (Ministry) submissions and ensure all work is coordinated with department leaders. The Supervisor of Finance & Budgeting is responsible for supervising the whole Finance Department, which includes Accounts Payable and Business Consultants. This position will provide professional support for yearend financial statement preparations, audits, compliance with internal controls and accounting standards, Board policies, Ministry of Education and Legislative requirements.
Qualifications and Skills required:

Qualifications and Skills required:
- Post-secondary degree in an accounting or business-related field
- Accounting Designation (CPA CA, CMA or CGA)
- Four to Six years of accounting experience
- Expert knowledge of accounting concepts for Ontario school boards and comprehensive understanding of educational funding requirement would be an asset
- Strong understanding and demonstration of application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced understanding of, and skills, using financial information systems. Experience working with Sparkrock is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advance level is required.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, analytical thinking and adaptability skills
- Strong ability to prioritize
- A proven ability to work independently in an organized manner, and collaboratively in a team-based environment
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated professional ethic and sensitivity for the confidential nature of the position
- Demonstrate process improvement initiatives
- Possess an understanding and appreciation of the mission of a Catholic school system
